1931 Buick Opera Coupe - "Loretta"

This special vintage automobile was imported from the United States of America in May 2008. She was faithfully restored by one of the founders of the Buick Car Club of America. The 1931 series 90 (DeLuxe) Buicks are recognised as "Full Classics" by the Classic Car Club of America.

"Loretta" is a real attention getter with its classic vintage 1920s styling. Not as spacious inside as its larger brother "Gable", it still comfortably seats four passengers plus the driver. Built in late 1930, its paintwork is in "midnight blue" with black guards (fenders), and the interior is re-upholstered in plush mohair velvet, as it was when new.

An interesting sidelight of this vehicle was that it was first sold by the Howard Motor Company of Hollywood Boulevarde U.S.A. So who knows which star or starlet may have ridden in this vehicle to the studio in Hollywood's golden days. Unfortunately there is no history that far back and we shall never know!

Featured extensively in the filming of The Great Gatsby, in particular as the oncoming vehicle which narrowly misses Gatsby's Duesenberg, the latter then runs over Myrtle.

1930 Buick 7-Seater Sedan - "Gable"

This is our big spacious vintage Buick automobile, which has been recently restored.  The 1930 model Buick limousine was originally built in 1929 and represented the ultimate in luxury for the day ... and in many ways still is!

"Gable" boasts a huge passenger rear compartment with enormous leg-room for your wedding! No wedding dress will be too large nor is there any chance of crushing by seat belts - they are not required with vintage vehicles!

Feel indulged as you sink into the plush mohair velvet lounge on your way to the Wedding ceremony. Also finished in "midnight blue" with black guards (fenders), it fully complements "Loretta" as the perfect pair for your vintage wedding. And of course it retains all its original gleaming nickel fittings inside.

"Gable" is luxuriously comfortable for four passengers. For larger wedding groups, two additional seats may be folded back from the rear of the front seat, permitting a maximum of six passengers. These additional seats are perfect for flower girls or page boys who love sitting in them.

"Gable" is a very impressive automobile that really turns heads, and is a very impressive vintage wedding car. The vehicle's classification is Buick DeLuxe Model 60 for 1930.

Also used in the filming of The Great Gatsby as a limousine bringing guests to Gatsby's lavish party.

1930 Buick Opera Coupe - "Greta"

Purchased in the United States at auction in late 2009 and imported to Australia, "Greta" is a very pretty vintage wedding car, with colours that are stunning for weddings. "Greta" was fully restored some years earlier and is in pristine condition.

"Greta" is virtually identical in styling to her slightly younger sister "Loretta". Built in late 1929 or early 1930, its paintwork is cream with black guards (fenders), with striking red pin-stripe and wheels. Greta's interior is upholstered with plush beige mohair velvet.

Greta's classification is the Buick DeLuxe Model 68 for 1930.

Also used in the filming of The Great Gatsby as a road vehicle, especially in the country.

1931 Lincoln Limousine - "Spencer"

Spencer is our top of the range Lincoln limousine for 1931. Lincoln is the prestige line of the Ford Motor Company, run by Edsell Ford at the time (son of the founder Henry Ford). Edsell ensured that no money was spared in the creation of his Lincolns! This example is a magnificent automobile, in almost complete original 1931 and spectacular condition. It certainly represented the height of luxury in its day.

This automobile represents the classic limousine of the day with a huge rear cabin. It includes a divider window between the driver and the passenger compartment, as well as an early intercom system with speaker near the driver. Apparently gangsters preferred Lincolns to any other automobile - 10 to 1!

Like "Gable", Spencer is luxuriously comfortable for four passengers, but with the two additional seats can accommodate a total of six passengers.

An interesting curio of this vehicle is that it was the only year that Lincolns included a "free-wheeling" gear box and transmission. Most car manufacturers dabbled with this concept in the early 1930s and each dispensed with it within a year or two as it didn't catch on with the public. However, driven correctly it saves fuel and enables almost silent gliding for much of the ride as the engine returns to idle when the foot is taken off the accelerator.

Bit part in The Great Gatsby.

1931 Cadillac 7-Seater Sedan - "Gilbert"

This fine automobile was imported from the United States of America in late 2011. By 1931 the great Depression was really starting to bite in America and elsewhere, so sales of luxury motor vehicles were falling precipitiously, making this a rare example.

Gilbert is in excellent condition with a lovely combination of colours - grey/beige and maroon on the guards and trim. It is a very spacious vehicle for four passengers, plus one or two additional seats can be pulled out from the rear of the front seat for extra passengers.

It is suggested that Gilbert can accompany our 1930 Buick 'Greta' or with Baxter.

Cadillac in 1931 represented luxury and comfort. "Gilbert" fits that mantle beautifully.

Bit part in The Great Gatsby and can be seen in one of the additional features, but didn't actually make it into the movie.

1933 Cadillac V12 Limousine - "Baxter"

Purchased at Hershey Pennsylvania, U.S.A. in late 2012, this 1933 Cadillac V12 limousine is extremely rare. As you may appreciate, the years 1932 and 1933 represented the absolue nadir of the Great Depression so very few limousines were produced and sold. We believe the paintwork is its original 1933 finish, and it is still in very good condition. The interior upholstery was updated some time ago.

A very expensive vehicle in its day, not only does the engine have 12 cylinders and consequently runs very smoothly, but the body was made by Fleetwood, an exclusive body builder owned by General Motors.

Presented nicely in olive green with deep green fenders, Baxter is luxuriuous and spacious with the largest cabin of any of our vehicles. It seats six passengers comfortably, including two seats that fold out from the rear of the front seat.

Baxter is a very impressive automobile that goes very well with Spencer or Greta.
